Guadalajara Municipal Cemetery, located on Dos de Mayo Street, is one of the city’s most distinctive heritage sites.
Its layout is the result of successive extensions that have created distinct courtyards – notably those dedicated to Our Lady of Antigua, Our Lady of Solitude and Saint Anne – each with its own character and a collection of mausoleums and tombs that illustrate the architectural and sculptural trends of the 19th and 20th centuries.
A stroll along its avenues, lined with cypress trees and rows of other trees, takes you past reliefs, inscriptions and mausoleums honouring families, professionals and groups linked to local history.
