Guadalajara still retains impressive remains of the defensive belt that protected the city during the Middle Ages, reflecting the strategic importance and strength of its ancient walls.
Several archaeological monuments from that defensive system have survived, offering an insight into the scale and strength of the structures that surrounded the town in centuries past.
This route offers a glimpse of the remains of the medieval walls and the work carried out by lecturers and students from the Academy of Engineers, who, between 1833 and 1932, restored and extended certain sections, paying particular attention to the strength and original design of these walls.
